A Day in Pokhara
It’s been sheer pleasure getting to know the amazing members of this group. In between our morning and afternoon meditation sessions with two wonderful teachers, we had the day to explore this little town called Pokhara. Folks picked up supplies for the hike like poles, rain gear, cold weather gear, headlamps, duffles, etc; others went on boat rides around the lake, got massages, exchanged currency, had laundry done, or had meals along the Main Street. These are all things available when you visit Pokhara.
I had a lovely day with a new friend, visiting a 150 year old temple on an island in the lake, shopping for cashmere, and nourishing ourselves with watermelon juice and momos before the torrential rain arrived. The boat guides only get on the water every 2-3 days because they must share the opportunity with hundreds of others vying for tourist tips.

After afternoon practice and some great insights, the group went to a Rajestan restaurant for dinner, packed our duffles for tomorrow, and called it a day.
I don’t have a lot of energy to go into more detail today. We begin hiking the Annapurna Trail to Poon Hill tomorrow. You may not hear from me until I return in a few days, depending on internet availability, but trust it is gorgeous here and I’m having the time of my life.
Have you been to Nepal? Is trekking here on your list of dreams?
Love, Wen
